JB Media Institute Expands Online Classroom, Shifts to Yearly Model for In-Person Program

(Asheville, NC) After graduating more than 130 students since 2013, the Asheville-based digital marketing program JB Media Institute will shift to an annual model for its 6-week in-person classroom in order to expand its online digital classroom.

Institute cofounders and lead instructors Justin Belleme and Sarah Benoit made the decision to scale back on the in-person program as a strategic move in order to offer more online trainings each year. Those interested in honing their digital marketing skills can now sign up for 12-week subscriptions to the Online JB Media Institute classroom, with online sessions launching every 6-8 weeks throughout the year.

“We can reach more students through the online training, and the online program is more scalable, allowing us to develop a more sustainable business” says Belleme, who is the Founder and Director of Strategy at JB Media Group, and was named the 2014 Entrepreneur of the Year by the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce. “That includes students who live anywhere in the country or in the world for that matter,  and the time is right for us to put our energy and focus more fully into growing the online Institute.”

Continuing the Classroom Experience in Asheville

“The online program makes sense for the vast majority of our students. Online education can be productive and convenient for many people, but others learn more when they have face to face time with our instructors,” says Institute Co-founder and lead Instructor Sarah Benoit, who was recently recognized as the 2017 Woman Executive of the Year by the Asheville Chamber of Commerce.

“We often meet local professionals who prefer to learn in person, so we will continue to offer this unique opportunity to have the classroom experience right here in Asheville. Plus, I love being with students in the classroom. It’s why I teach continuing education at community colleges and Small Business Centers around the state.”

Running May 8th to June 14th

This year’s in-person Institute will take place at the Goodwill Career Center on Patton Ave, Tuesday through Thursday from 2 pm to 5 pm, May 8th to June 14th. This 6-week course offers exclusive, hands-on instruction from Belleme, Benoit, and guest instructors from the JB Media Group agency, among other digital experts.

At the conclusion of the in-person training this summer, cohort members will receive full access to the JB Media Institute’s online educational library, previously offered only to online students. Those resources include in-depth how-to videos for utilizing online tools like Google Analytics and Facebook Ads Manager, recorded presentations, invitations to weekly live mentoring webinars, and access to a new Introduction to Content Marketing course.

JB Media Institute classes cover everything needed to create a successful Internet marketing campaign, across the following areas:

  • Social Media Classes: Growing, managing and tracking your platforms.
  • Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Classes: How search engines work and understanding keywords, effective content writing, and tracking results.
  • Online Public Relations Training:  Getting your brand shared digitally and creating relationships with media influencers.
  • Online Advertising Classes: Understanding the most popular online advertising platforms with a focus on Facebook advertising and Google AdWords.
  • Strategy and Project Management: Developing a strategy for managing your marketing efforts across all areas of focus.

With each online and in-person Institute session, lead instructor Benoit carefully considers curriculum updates, as best practices often shift in the world of digital marketing.

“In the world of digital marketing, the tools, best practices, and strategies are always evolving. It’s my job to keep up with the latest trends and to identify what aspects of the trends are applicable to businesses, organizations, and brands when it comes to marketing, communications, sales, and customer service,” states Benoit. “We also expect students to share ideas, experiences, and expertise as much as they learn from us. That is the real power that fuels our program.”
