It has been an exciting and busy time for the JB Media Institute team lately! We launched the online JB Media Institute and have been busy presenting for organizations and conferences. Recently, I had the pleasure of presenting a webinar to the Council of State Retail Associations (CSRA) on search engine optimization (SEO) to over 60 businesses across the country.
A huge thank you to Kimberly Davis-Parker from the CSRA, who organized the online event and Christine Cummings from the Retailers Association of Maine, who facilitated the webinar. CSRA was kind enough to share the presentation via Youtube making it available for businesses interested in the latest SEO updates.

The presentation includes an overview of how Google’s search engine results have evolved over the last few years and the different opportunities companies have to show up in search results, whether they happen on a desktop, laptop, tablet, or mobile phone. I also discussed the basics of the Google Keyword Planner, a very important tool for researching keyword terms and phrases that may be right for your business.
In addition to organic SEO, I reviewed specific strategies for local and mobile SEO and the importance of meeting the latest Google standards for mobile websites. To wrap things up, the presentation includes the steps for creating a plan to improve website performance and how to set up proper tracking for your site.
